We have a cultural fear of death and dying and often approach it's preparation with emotional instability.

It's important for a person who is dying to express preferences about issues at the end of life and that the family honor these decisions. These can be legal matters, health care concerns and  funeral preparations. For example, in health care, a very common concern revolves around tube feeding and related issues in palliative nutrition and hydration at the very end, including difficult decisions about withdrawing life-sustaining treatment.
